About the Role
Description
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
Ensure that Company safety procedures are followed.
Ensure that Company environmental and health safety standards are met.
Maintain accurate and complete Environmental, Health & Safety records in accordance with governing regulations and company policies.
Measure Plant performance benchmarking against best in class manufacturing and
leadership role to create and implement plans to improve performance.
Encourage and maintain high employee involvement in health and safety systems
including Case Farms Safety Audit requirements.
Conduct EH&S program training for new hires and organize annual training. Develop
and conduct new training programs as needed.
Conduct incident investigations including "root cause analysis" for corrective action.
Perform worksite and incident trend analysis to sustain a comprehensive system for hazard prevention and control.
Responsible for preparing, maintaining, and updating environmental policy, procedures and manuals.
Ensures compliance with all Environmental, Health & Safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization.
Implement/maintain a Behavior-Based Safety Program.
Perform other duties as may be assigned by management.
REQUIREMENTS:
Associate’s degree in a safety-related field/ or equivalent.
Proven project management skills
Proficient in PC applications
Excellent documentation and organization skills
Excellent communications and interpersonal skills required
Ability to work in cross-functional teams
Initiative to lead and work independently, self-starter, and sound decision-making skills.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
OSHA 30 Hour Certification
Strong preference for safety experience in a manufacturing setting
Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions, if applicable.
Exposure may consist of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
May be exposed to chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.
Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
Work may occasionally include lifting, reaching, bending, pushing, and squatting.
