Description
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
Leads an assigned production team in a high volume, fast-paced plant environment. Responsible for all facets of the day-to-day operations. Serves as front-line management, accountable for all factors related to the functioning of the department.
Supervises production shift staff to attain quality, safety, and production schedule objectives.
Oversees operations of the department; Schedules production functions; Manages line efficiencies, key performance indicators, downtime, and special needs.
Monitors production flow, ensuring output meets targeted goals.
Identifies opportunities to improve processes, minimize scrap, or otherwise reduce manufacturing costs.
Makes good, calculated business decisions.
Makes effective operational decisions in an expedient manner while maintaining quality standards.
Monitors production processes; Makes changes in processes based on daily goals, customer needs, and department demands.
Troubleshoots production processes to correct product issues and improve process control.
Monitors equipment; Troubleshoots minor equipment problems and corrects.
Provides vision and inspiration for the team.
Mentors, encourages, and motivates team members, ensuring individual and group productivity.
Develops the team to ensure it delivers the required performance.
Tracks key performance indicators; Uses math skills to calculate operating/efficiency results; Reports metrics to plant management.
Champions continuous improvement efforts and projects.
Trains, coaches, and mentors Team Leads, and line employees.
Records daily attendance in Kronos system; Verifies labor hours and attendance.
Understands department machinery and can execute small adjustments.
Establishes and enforces standards; Set expectations and drives accountability.
Cultivates a positive working environment; Fosters productive working relationships among team members; Builds and strengthens relationships within the team; Serves as an excellent example to others.
Fosters company culture.
Maintains and boosts production efficiency and quality.
Disseminates pertinent information to the team.
Consistently enforces company policies, safety standards, quality standards, SOPs, and GMPs.
Responsible for employee scheduling, employee relations issues, conflict resolution, performance evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary actions.
Demonstrates knowledge of all hands-on duties related to the department.
REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proven leadership; Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to interface effectively at all levels of the organization.
Intermediate computer skills.
Excellent multi-tasking, time management, scheduling, organizational, and prioritization skills.
Familiarity with computer use and systems.
Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
Basic math skills.
Detail-oriented.
Ability to take initiative, maintain confidentiality, and meet deadlines.
